FIT Europe: Elections of the new Board

The 2021 General Meeting of FIT Europe, the Regional Centre of the International Federation of Translators (FIT), took place as an online meeting last Thursday, 9 September.

The new Board of FIT Europe was elected by the delegates of the Member Associations represented at the meeting after the previous Board’s report and activities were unanimously approved. The new Board consists of:

John O’Shea (PEM, Greece) Chair
Gabriella Suzanne Vanzan (Assointerpreti, Italy) Vice Chair
Sandra Mouton (SFT, France) Secretary General María Galán Barrera (Asetrad, Spain) Treasurer
Wanda Ruiz-Brunelot (SFT, France) was co-opted for one year to stay on the board as Vice Chair of FIT Europe and Chair of FIT Europe Soutien.

The Board of FIT Europe will represent its 73 member organisations over the next three years and looks forward to fulfilling its mission of advocating and furthering the interests of the 40,000 professional translators, interpreters, terminologists, and researchers and trainers in the language sector operating in Europe.
